So I had a hilarious Twitter conversation with Don Elson over on Twitter that lead to him drawing too great guest comics out of it. I was originally going to post them between comics story line breaks but since we’re a long out from that I’ll just post them here and in the fan fiction section.
Go check out his Deviant Art and Twitter and tell him he’s awesome!

I don’t have a Deviant Art or Twitter, can I tell him on Facebook instead? And call him a copycat for using my birthday without permission?
Also, I just finished reading all 422 comics, thanks to Don’s mention of a coming work of his. Glad he did, many laughs were had.
Sure, I accept messages on Facebook. And I still think we should have a huge birthday blast this time around, Mauron
Big ups to Don on the fan comic. Sorry that my writing has flooded the pipe too much for it to make it to the main crawl. A permanent place of honor in our currently small fanart section ain’t too bad though. You’ll be near the top of that page for a long chunk of the future I reckon.
Kudos also to Mauron for pushing your way through the backlog of the comics. I personally love the idea of vocal fans who have read all of the series up to this point so please feel free to comment or post in the forums with any old thing. We have some big things coming for EOTW and it would be great to hear reactions straight from the fans whenever possible.
Unfortunately I can’t make many specific comments at this point, since the downside of reading every comic in one day is that you get a jumbled ball of funny afterward. I am curious how the Superman costume comes into play with the Blue Phoenix’s more recent stories. Although you may already have thought of that.
The Superman costume is officially out of use permanently after the ‘Brandt got sued’ storyline. Both for consistency and for the fact that we are slowly trying to cut down on outright ripping off existing properties or actual human beings for our characters. All that said, the red eye beams in this flashback are a direct reference to the fact that Brandt didn’t become the blue phoenix officially until after the sued story, so his powers first manifestation is going to be more supermanesque.
All that said, we don’t ignore the fact that that did happen in the comics going forward. The THEME of Brandt as Superman is going to be very important going forward for the character’s development. You’ll just never see him in that costume again.
He’s got pinkeye!
Don’t think Visine is gonna help…
lmao
